Critical Access Hospital for Quality
Four Mercy hospitals in Oklahoma recognized by National Rural Health Association
Mercy Hospital Logan County has been named one of the country’s top 20 critical access hospitals for quality by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA), a recognition that places the hospital among an elite group of rural health care providers across the U.S.
The award is based on the results of the The Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, which evaluates rural hospitals nationwide on eight key performance indicators: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge and finance.
“Community access hospitals are special places because of how important they are to every single person who lives nearby,” said Bobby Stitt, Mercy Hospital Logan County administrator. “All of our caregivers consider it an honor to do such important and fulfilling work every day for our neighbors here in Logan County. Earning this recognition is an added bonus.”
Mercy Hospital Logan County was selected from The Chartis Center for Rural Health’s list of the top 100 community access hospitals for 2025. The top 20 designation highlights hospitals that are setting the standard for excellence in rural health care delivery. An awards ceremony honoring Mercy Hospital Logan County and others on the list will be held at the NRHA’s Critical Access Hospital Conference in September in Kansas City, Missouri.
“NRHA is committed to ensuring our members have the best information to manage their hospitals,” said Brock Slabach, NRHA chief operations officer. “We’re pleased to recognize the accomplishments of these rural hospitals.”
Other Mercy hospitals in Oklahoma earning the recognition are in Healdton, Kingfisher and Tishomingo.
Mercy Hospital Logan County is a 25-bed hospital with acute care and swing bed (skilled care) services, along with inpatient and outpatient therapy, infusion services, emergency care and other treatments. It also hosts a Senior Life Solutions program for seniors experiencing depression or anxiety related to life changes.
