Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer\/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse,
\nthe Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering,
\ndirecting and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
\nThe Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning,
\ndischarge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources.
\nMay perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).<\/p>\n

RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n

Patient Care Essential Job Functions<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.
\n\u2022 Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in patients\u2019 conditions.
\n\u2022 Maintains complete and accurate records of all activities performed.
\n\u2022 Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients\u2019 responses and conditions.
\n\u2022 Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
\n\u2022 Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient\u2019s condition.
\n\u2022 Monitors all aspects of care, including diet and physical activity.
\n\u2022 Directs and supervises LVNs\/LPNs, PCTs, CNAs\/NAs.
\n\u2022 Prepares patients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments.
\n\u2022 Performs all scheduled assessments and physician orders in a timely manner.
\n\u2022 Demonstrates proper use of med dispense system.
\n\u2022 Performs in the department as a team member.
\n\u2022 Performs work accurately, and in a professional manner, being conscious of patient\/department needs.
\n\u2022 Demonstrates knowledge and skill in nursing processes\/procedures, in accordance with policies and procedures.<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n

Education and Training: Holds current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state where the hospital resides. Current BLS certification is required.<\/p>\n

**Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses, High Ops, and ICU. **<\/p>\n

Experience:\u00a0One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.<\/p>\n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Verbal ability to effectively express ideas and views for communication with (as appropriate) pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, visitors, and staff members.
\n\u2022 Read and write English language including medical terminology and abbreviations.
\n\u2022 Clerical ability to document completely and accurately in medical record.
\n\u2022 Cognitive ability to implement the nursing process with (as appropriate) pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in the nursing setting.
\n\u2022 Organizational ability to complete nursing tasks in a timely and efficient manner.<\/p>\n

\u2022Ability to motivate staff in performance of patient care.
\n\u2022 Capacity to relate to people in a manner to win confidence and establish rapport.
\n\u2022 Flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and the various details of the job.<\/p>\n
