PEDIATRIC CARDIAC – LEAD ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

(Physician Assistant or Acute Care Trained Nurse Practitioner)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, College of Medicine is
\nrecruiting candidates for a full-time Pediatric Cardiovascular – Lead Advanced Practice Provider.
\nThe provider will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care and
\nexceptional treatment to infants, children, and teenagers who have complex heart defects.
\nThis position is a dual role of outpatient and or inpatient setting in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities will include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for patients and families.
\nWorking with administration, nurses, physicians, and university faculty to assure safe, effective,
\nquality care to patients acute and chronic health needs and to promote educational and research missions.
\nThe candidate should be able to first and second assist a Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon as they perform
\nAdult Congenital cases and a wide variety of Pediatric cases to include but not limited to Norwood, Glenn, Fontan, arterial switch, and double switch.
\nThe principal focus will be performing first and second Assistant duties in the operating room.
\nAdditional duties and responsibilities may include rounding on inpatient units, performing bedside procedures and managing outpatients.<\/p>\n

Provides care within their scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, and institutional policy and practice agreements.
\nServes on leadership and operational committees. Supervises and trains staff and Advanced Practice Providers.<\/p>\n

The candidate will need to have five (5) plus years of experience and acute care trained.
\nMust be a board-certified Nurse Practitioner Acute Track Trained or Board-Certified Physician Assistant.
\nWill need to have achieved a Masters Degree from an accredited Nursing Program or Physician Assistant Program.
\nAbility to apply for an active DEA license prior to or upon hire.<\/p>\n

Physicians Assistants will need to be Certified in CPR, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS),
\nNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment in this position.<\/p>\n

Nurse Practitioners will need to be Acute Care Trained and Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) certified.
\nMust also be CPR, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment in this position.<\/p>\n

Candidates (NP\u2019s or PA\u2019s) must obtain required licensure from the State of Oklahoma within 30 days of employment<\/p>\n
